Rod Bramblett, the Legendary Sportscaster, and His Wife Paula, Died in Car Crash

The former sportscaster for the Auburn University, Rod Bramblett, known as “the Voice of the Auburn Tigers,” succumbed to injuries Saturday night after a tragic two-car crash, as did his wife Paula.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, and Bramblett was promptly transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Unfortunately, there was not much the doctors could do for him as he had sustained severe head injuries. Rod Bramblett passed away at 53.

Paula Lambert was taken to the emergency room in the East Alabama Medical Center, where she died from internal injuries. She was 52.

The Auburn Police Division revealed that the 2017 Toyota Highlander the Brambletts were in was hit from the back by a 16-year-old boy in a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The teenage boy suffered non-fatal injuries and is recovering in the EAMC.

In the preliminary report, Lee County Coroner, Bill Harris, ruled out alcohol as the cause of the crash. The police are still investigating what lead to the young male driver losing control over his vehicle.
